Osho Center Parade: Humaniversity, Holland
Another invitation from European big sannyas community in Holland. Very juicy and alive community of people living in a vision of friendship - the highest of all Human Arts, referring to themselves as a "family". Those who come there can bring this feeling and learning about relating to the world.
Osho Center Parade is a part of our RebSpirit webzine. It brings practical info about living in buddhafields around the world. Read more in our introductory article.

1. Please give us your contact info: name of the center, address, contact person, e-mail, website, telephone, fax.
Humaniversity - Dr Wiardi Beckmanlaan 4. 1931 BW Egmond Aan Zee. Holland.
E-mail: info (at) humaniversity.nl
Phone: 0031-72-5064114
Website: www.humaniversity.nl
2. What is the meaning of the name of your center?
Humaniversity is made of the words Human University, it is a place where we study ourselves and learn and practice the Art of Being Human.
3. Is it possible to come and stay at your buddhafield?
Yes, in many different ways. Here we train people to work with people; we also work with people in crisis or difficulties that look for therapeutic help to change; our programs are also suitable for those who are looking for personal growth and fulfillment; and for people who want to share life with friends in an alive and vibrant Buddhafield.
4. How often are events happening there? We have residential programs happening all year long, of different lengths. These can be joined from Monday to Friday at any time of the year. Every weekend we offer workshops covering different topics from Sexuality to Personal Power, Relating skills, Primal Therapy, Martial Arts, Meditation, Emotional Release, Bodywork and others.
In the summer we offer one month long workshop and, in the winter, a 10 days group over Christmas holidays.
Throughout the year we also offer special events such as the Mega AUM day, which happens once a year, and the Boozeria parties, every month, open for outside participants.
5. How many people usually come to events, meditation weekends or trainings?
The number varies according to the program. Our weekend groups vary from 15 to 70 people. The Student and Tourist Programs (the first one lasting from one month to one year, and the second, two weeks) have between 7 and 20 people.
6. How many people live permanently in the commune?
We have a constant population of about 50 people, which increases on the weekends, with our workshops.
7. Describe your program for guests and workers. Most people who come here are looking to learn about themselves. We have two residential programs specially designed in that direction. The Tourist Program is a two weeks residential program where you go through an intense therapeutic process, individually assessed by our clinical staff. During these two weeks the person is taken through different therapeutic approaches in group sessions; has a daily sharing from where the next steps for him/her in the program are designed; lives together with the other tourists, learning to relate, and takes part in the two weekend workshops which are happening in the house at that time.
The second is the Student Program, where you are more integrated in the daily working life of the community, and live together with the student family, learning how to make friends and seeing yourself through many different angles. As a student you also have sessions on diverse therapeutic techniques, and have the clinical guidance of the counselors of the program. The education is based on experience, so the students become each others living text-books.
Some people also come here simply because they like to be part of the commune and support the work. For them we have the worker's program, which can be joined by anyone who has done the Tourist Program before. In this program you join the morning meditation and work in one of the departments of the community during the day. For guests who just like to spend some time with us and "chill out", we have the Rest & Relaxation Program. There the person can choose to participate in the morning meditation and in the day, can enjoy the coffeshop, the sauna, the beach, the disco, our healthy vegetarian food, and book for individual sessions of massage or various other healing methods we offer.
The Specialist Program is a special feature we have for people who like to live in our community and share their expertise in different working areas with us.
8. How much do workers and guests pay for their stay? May they earn? The Specialist Program is quoted on a special agreement. The prices are as follow:
Rest and Relaxation: Euro 65/day
Private room: Euro 90/day
Workers Prog: Euro 25/day
Tourist Prog: Euro 1480.00
Student Prog: Euro: 1500
We do not have a system where people can earn money while staying with us.
9. Is it possible to visit your center anytime during the year? When is the "hot season"?
The Humaniversity is open all year long, and the highlight of the year is our summer month long group "WOW" led by Veeresh and the staff. This gathers over one hundred people from around the world and happens every year from mid-July to mid-August.
Every first Sunday of the month we have Open House, from 15:00 to 18:00; where we give an explanation about our work and a guided tour around our property.
10. Who is the leader or who are leaders of the center?Swami Anand Veeresh is the founder and President of the Humaniversity. He is a man of incredible charisma and determination, and famous for his heartful, daring and often, surprising way of working with people. He is personally involved in the guidance of the daily life in the community, the Trainings and leads his own groups here and in many other countries.
11. Describe one day in your center.
During the week, a "normal" day could start with a Dynamic or AUM Meditation at 7:00. After the meditation, showers and breakfast, a Morning Meeting with the whole community can take place, and then everyone engages in work in their area. During the work time there will be time out for a coffebreak in our coffeshop.
Before lunch, the Tourists will have their own session or sharing.
Lunch will be followed by cleaning the dishes and the kitchen, and then going for a beachwalk together or a break.
In the afternoon, the tourists will go on with their sessions while everyone else works in departments, some days the students also have a sharing or session or special activities.
Dinner will happen around 19:30, followed by dishes and either an evening session, or some creative project, or a Martial Arts class, or watching a movie together.
At the end of the day, everyone will hang out in our coffeshop or in the disco, or have a sauna before going to bed at approximately 1:00.
12. Tell us something about the spirit in your buddhafield. We are a very juicy and alive community of people living in a vision of friendship - the highest of all Human Arts. We focus a lot in creating space for honesty, trust and respect, where people can feel at home with each other, and ultimately, with themselves. We like to refer to ourselves as a "family", and that those who comes here can bring this feeling and learning about relating to the world.
We are also fun-oriented, and there is always space for new challenges and discoveries in our home.
