Osho Center Parade: Osho Tapoban, Nepal

Osho Tapoban is a place for all who are in the path of inner exploration. Staying in th Himalayan forest is a experience and staying in the Buddha field is a blessing.

2. What is the meaning of the name of your center?
"Osho" is our beloved Enlightened Master and "Tapoban" in Sanskrit literary means place of Sadhana (meditation).

3. Is it possible to come and stay at your buddhafield?
Tapoban welcomes all who want to stay for meditation and retreat.

4. How often are events happening there?
Every month near full moon, we conduct here 3 days meditation camp. In the same way, we conduct 7 days camp twice every year. There are also other meditation camps conducted by our Coordinator - Swami Anand Arun, an intimate desciple of Osho, when invited for this purposes in other places of India and Nepal. Besides, Tapoban organizes pilgrimage meditation camp in the different places of Pilgrimage of India and Nepal. And every Saturday, we conduct afternoon Satsang program which is mainly visited by newcomers. This satsang program has been very successful and the most popular. We officially celebrate Buddha Purnima, Osho Birthday, Osho Enlightenment Day, and Osho Mahaparinirvana Day, Guru urnima.

5. How many people usually come to events, meditation weekends or trainings?
Mostly the camps are attended by people exceeds one hundred. In camp people stay at Tapoban and we can acommodate 120 people here. In weekends (Satruday Satsang Program) around 200 people attend the program. People come to Tapoban in other days, just to rest in nature and relax. These people are general visit for a whole day. And foreigners as well as Nepali and Indians come to stay at Tapoban as well.

6. How many people live permanently in the commune?
18 people live permanently in the commune.

7. Describe your program for guests and workers.
Sannyasins living permanently in the commune look after the day to day work here in the commune. We do not have other catagory of workers here. We conduct here 5 meditation sessions. And guests can attend the sessions to their likings.

8. How much do workers and guests pay for their stay? May they earn?
Guests pay according to their rooms they book for staying. We have no such programs where workers and guest can earn.

9. Is it possilble to visit your center anytime during the year? When is the "hot season"?
Tapoban can be visited anytime during the year. The hot season is summer.

10. Who is the leader or who are leaders of the center?
The management is run by the trustees of this organization. Osho Tapoban is registerd as the non-profit organization under the social welfare council of Nepal. The Acharya is the main coordinator of the commune. Swami Anand Arun, Archarya, the direct desciple of Osho, is the coordinator of Osho Tapoban.

9.00-10.00 Yoga Classes
10.00-10.30 Samadhi Darshan
10.00-11.00 Breakfast
11.30-1.00 pm Meditation noon session

4.00-4.45 Audio/Video Discourses
5.00-6.00 Kundalini Meditation
6.00-7.00 Bath & Tea
7.00-8.30 Evening Satsang
8.30-9.30 Dinner
10.00.10.30 Samadhi Darshan
10.30-5.30 Silence rest hour

This is our summer schedule. There may be other programs conducted by artists from outside and the sannyasins visiting and staying at Tapoban.

12. Tell us something about the spirit in your buddhafield.
This is the perfect place of nature. Daily group meditations and frequent camps and celebrations have made this place really a buddhafield where one easily can calm his mind and feel his inner substance. All who have come here till has thanked Osho for his vision of such commune and have been able to touch the real height of spiritual ecstasy. The high spirit of happiness and spontanous serenity of mind is what Tapoban stands for.
