Dear Swami Anurag Shantam, With reference to your letter "The Flowering of Sannyas" in http://www.rebelliousspir it.com/osho-webzine/111 Few points to dwell upon: 1. Enlightenment is not an end but just an entry into the endless which is divine and eternal. You can enter into this journey using several entry points but there is no exit or end to this eternal life. 2.Dynamic Meditation has been one of the several means available to dissolve a doer, in the path of "nirvan". This meditation has been the lifeline for several sanyasins, I know. >>>To me, the world of sannyas seems to be moribund at best, calcified at worst<<<< 3. This assumption is due to loss of contact with fellow sannyasins. The world of sannyas has been thriving as never before. >>>&g t;America crushed His soul, destroyed the very heart of Him,<<<< 4. Soul is more like a space and is indestructible. Master neither has any purpose nor has any goals to achieve, therefore, he is successful everywhere. You can not frustrate him. If you see him failing then it's your projection only. His eyes prove his unperturbed being. >>>>one can’t have an Avatar inhaling nitrous oxide<<<< 5. Who told you that "avatars" are limited by our expectations regarding what they should or should not be doing. Avatars show great spontaneity and freedom in their action and expression. >>>>His was an instant enlightenment. He had done all His work (His path) in previous lives. The knowledge of His awakening, His path, literally how He did it, was lost to Him. He was awake, He was a master, but He had no path of His own to teach. Therefore He mined the riches of the east<<<< 6. Instant enlightenment is fiction. Enlightenment is an endless journey, once you are in, it continues to eternity. A timeless journey which deepens the mystery of existence which is "unknowable" by any means. "His path....was lost to Him" Awakened one doesn't lose his path, this phenomenon is unique only to un-awakend ones. "He was awake, He was master" awakening is allways in the present it can never be relegated to past or future. Conciousness is one timeless aspect of the eternal being. Please don't refer Him in the past or future. Masters existence appears to us as conciosness which is not a product of time rather a cause of it. >>>>My approach is simple, and very western. You have a goal: enlightenment. You have a problem: the ego. How to systematically solve the problem and reach the goal? Divide the problem into three parts: pain, fear, anger. Divide the goal into three parts: soul, spirit, God. The tool to achieve the goals is already present: awareness. <<<< 7. If you have a desire called "enlightenment" then this desire will become the greatest impediment to enlightenment and failure is certain. If you consider ego as a problem then you will not be able to watch it because of your judgement of ego as a problem. Swami Shantam Anuragi Sannyas (2004), Poona New Delhi |
